After generations of prosperity and innovation the ancient Maya civilization collapsed, turning bustling cities into ghost towns to be reclaimed by mother nature. The video tells a story of conquest, ingenuity, and disaster. Were they city-states butting heads and bloody clashes? Now there is evidence of brutal battles and human sacrifices were fundamental components of life among the ancient Maya. 

A dear friend of mine, a Hispanist (interested in Spanish language, literature, and civilization)  tells me, "I really enjoyed watching this production, which was filmed in 2006. It is amazing that there is still so much we do not know about these people.
